What brand of Classical Guitar should I buy?

stevied_672005 asked:

I’m buying my skilled guitarist boyfriend his first Classical guitar for Christmas. He already plays classical, he just doesn’t own his OWN. He isn’t picky. If he bought it himself hed probably just spend about 200 bucks on something that would stay in tune. But I know he deserves better!
I can only spend about 300 dollars though. He mentioned an Ibanez, but I’m not sure if thats just because he found one cheap?

I know I could get an accoustic/electric classical ibanez brand new…nylon strings..solid body, cut design… black…for my price. but I was offered a NON electric classic Takamine classic body…spruce solid top brand new for 329 bucks. Whats the better deal? …or can I get something better?

I want the best for my buck. Electric or not!. please help

The guitar takes talent and intelligence. Why don’t you pick a more suitable hobby, like taking baseball bats to get head.

Ibanez and Takamine both make good instruments. They make instruments for different price levels so you get what you pay for. I would suggest you have him play each one because an experienced guitar player can tell immediately from the sound and feel which is the better guitar. I would also suggest that you not get an acoustic/electric because with the electronics inside, the sound may not resonate so much. Plus you can always get a pickup on the outside later.
